The Summer Solstice is all about fire. Fire that purifies, that heals, that feeds the soul and gives it stamina, the energy to go forward.
It has always been a good time for me, and I have celebrated with festivals, picnics and rituals in the most gorgeous places, such as the Gaulish oppidum at Bibracte, at sunset, with a friend, driking elderflower beer as the first stars appeared…
It’s the perfect time to call upon the power of the Sun (that was worshipped as the tangible form of the Divine for us people living on Earth) to help you clear your blocks, fears illusions.
In the Rig Veda, the holy text of Hinduism, there is a mantra to harness this power. It is said that just by chanting it, you clear and clean yourself (exactly like when doing the Ho’oponopono). It is the Gayatri Mantra, which is very famous and beautiful.
So, here is my gift to you for all your seasonal rituals : the lyrics and a recording of this beautiful mantra.
ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः ।
तत् सवितुर्वरेण्यं ।
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि ।
धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥
Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ
tát savitúr váreṇyaṃ
bhárgo devásya dhīmahi
dhíyo yó naḥ pracodáyāt Om
Skies, Earth and Water
Let the excellent Sun
Glorious, Divine and pious
Help us meditate upon our rambling minds
